Embark on an incredible journey through the heart of Western Europe and the Mediterranean, blending adventure, history, and culture with Jewish heritage. Here’s a detailed narrative of the unforgettable four-week experience:
Week ONE: England
DAYS 1–3: LONDON – ICONS, ADVENTURE & BRITISH CHARMS
On Wednesday, July 1, we’ll arrive in the vibrant city of London and kick off our journey with orientation and team bonding at Hampton Court Palace and its famous hedge maze. That evening, we’ll take in sweeping views of the city from the London Eye before settling into our first overnight abroad.
Thursday, July 2 brings us face-to-face with London’s royal and political icons — Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, 10 Downing Street, and Westminster Abbey — before enjoying a true British experience with a West End theater show and traditional fish & chips dinner.
On Friday, July 3, we’ll explore the Tower of London and London Bridge, then enjoy a scenic boat ride to Greenwich for an unforgettable photo op at the Prime Meridian.
DAYS 4–5: SHABBAT IN LONDON
Saturday, July 4 will be a restful Shabbat in Hyde Park, with time to unwind and explore Covent Garden and the British Museum. Together, we’ll reflect and celebrate a meaningful Shabbat filled with community, learning, and connection.
Week TWO: France
DAYS 6–10: PARIS & MAHANETZER – COMMUNITY, CULTURE & CAMP LIFE
On Sunday, July 5, we’ll cross the English Channel and journey through the Dover Cliffs, arriving in Paris to begin our time in France. The next few days are packed with the city’s must-see highlights — from the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, and Champs-Élysées to the artistic streets of Montmartre. We’ll explore Jewish Paris through the Shoah Memorial, La Marais, and Notre Dame Cathedral, ending the week with a meaningful Kabbalat Shabbat with the Jewish community of Paris.
On Sunday, July 6, we’ll travel south to Mahanetzer, a Reform Jewish camp nestled in the French countryside, where we’ll experience an immersive taste of European Jewish life. Over the next two days, participants will join European Netzer youth in camp-style activities — from creative electives and sports to campfire singing and discussions that bridge Jewish life across continents.
Shabbat at Mahanetzer is a highlight of the journey — filled with song, ruach, and connection, echoing the spirit of American Jewish summer camps but in a distinctly European setting. Together, we’ll share meals, music, and stories that celebrate global Jewish community and Reform values.
Saturday, July 11, offers a relaxing Shabbat with group-led reflections before preparing for the adventures ahead in the French Alps.
Week Three: French Alps & Northern Italy
DAYS 11–15: COUNTRYSIDE ADVENTURES & THE ALPS
On Sunday, July 12, we’ll journey south into the French Alps, hiking in St. Gervais les Bains and soaking up stunning alpine views. Monday brings a thrilling ropes course adventure before we head toward the Mediterranean coast, stopping at Nice’s Castle Hill and the Chagall Museum.
Crossing into Italy on Tuesday, July 14, we’ll unwind with kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding at Lake Garda, surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery. Wednesday features a cable car ride into the Dolomites and a Via Ferrata experience, followed by a serene Kabbalat Shabbat in nature.
Saturday, July 18, will be a peaceful Shabbat among the mountain peaks, filled with group-led reflection and connection.
Week Four: Italy
DAYS 16–19: VENICE, FLORENCE & TUSCANY

FAQs
How are groups formed?
If you are part of a camp or congregational community, teens will be placed on a bus with other participants from their community. To ensure a meaningful and complete summer experience, communities may be combined with others based on registration numbers.
I'm interested in both Europe and Israel. When do I have to make a final decision?
We encourage you to pick the program you are most interested in and register. You will have the flexibility to switch between programs until February 14, 2025.
What opportunities will there be to strengthen connections to Israel and Jewish peoplehood?
This program aims to foster connections to Israel and Jewish peoplehood by bringing together teens from diverse Jewish backgrounds. Participants will share the journey with Israeli teens, building meaningful relationships and gaining a deeper understanding of Israeli culture and perspectives. Additionally, they will meet with local European Jewish youth communities, experiencing the vibrancy of modern Jewish life across Europe. Through these interactions, combined with immersive explorations of European Jewish history and culture, we will have the opportunity reflect on our personal Jewish identity and strengthen our connection to the global Jewish community.
Are there scholarships available?
We are in the process of becoming an approved program to receive a RootOne Voucher and more information will be available soon.
If your teen received a $250 b’nei mitzvah certificate, you can apply it towards this program. URJ Camps may also have scholarship available (Eisner Camp, for example).
We also recommend reaching out to your local federation or synagogue to inquire if they offer scholarships or financial assistance.
