The Four Questions I’m Asking About Israel This Year
By Chelsea Feuchs I have very little artistic ability. Throughout my childhood, I tried my hand at photography, drawing, singing, clarinet, dance, and musical theater, but to no avail. Considering all these failed attempts, I was shocked when I finally stumbled upon...

By Rabbi Reuven Greenvald, Director of Israel Engagement, URJ Mah Nishtanah! As Passover, we ask, "How is this night different than all other nights?" Well, yesterday Israelis went to the ballot boxes, and today we know the outcome. One’s answer to this age-old Jewish...
Lessons During a Trip to the North
By Rabbi David Wilfond, Director of Education One of the things that makes the NFTY in Israel educational program of such a high quality is that we train our educators (mechanchim) for six months prior to the summer. Yesterday, we completed a three-day trip to the...

Preparing for Your Adventure
NFTY in Israel is an epic adventure into the story of our people. Whether you are joining us on our Adventure program, on L’dor V’dor with an extra week in Europe, focusing on Sports or Science and Technology or Social Justice on Mitzvah Corps Israel, you will have the opportunity to delve into history, physically walking through the sites where so much happened so long ago.
What Happens After That Amazing NFTY in Israel Summer?
At NFTY in Israel we know that the summer doesn’t end when our participants’ planes land back in their home airport. We also know that our teens don’t come back the “same” after a trip to Israel. A trip to Israel is a journey of a lifetime, but more importantly it is truly a transformational moment in the life of a young person. In fact, for many of our teens, once the program ends, a new chapter in their Jewish life is just beginning; and that is the voyage of understanding the role of Israel in their life as a young Jewish person in North America.
Preparing our Staff to Guide Teens Throughout Europe
In three weeks I will fly to Europe with our NFTY in Israel Educators to teach them how to lead our teens in Prague and Poland. We will visit all the sites that our teens will visit during the summer and learn how to make the story of European Jewry come alive and be relevant for our youth.
National Pizza Day – Israeli Pizza Rolls!
If you’ve ever spoken to someone who just got back from a trip to Israel, chances are that they told you about visiting the famed Marzipan bakery in Machaneh Yehuda (the outdoor market, or shuk, in Jerusalem). Marzipan is widely known for their rugelach—a chocolate pastry that they shovel straight from the oven into containers, which are quickly grabbed up by locals and tourists alike. Just about everyone I know who’s made it to the renowned bakery has come back raving about these bite-sized desserts.
Financial
Assistance
NFTY in Israel believes the opportunity to travel to Israel is one that cannot be missed. Many organizations support our mission of sending teens to Israel for a fun, educational and meaningful journey. To help offset the cost of a summer on NFTY in Israel, local communities, such as synagogues and federations, provide scholarship and financial aid to families.
