Bus 25 First Shabbat in Israel!

July 2, 2021

Today was a very exciting day for Bus 25! We started the day with a delicious kibbutz breakfast and proceeded to have a brief orientation where the participants learned some ground rules. After this, the participants engaged in some exciting ice breakers so that they were able to bond and get to know each other better. These games included “No Way”, clumpy bear, zombie chairs, and around the world. After this, we had a delicious kibbutz lunch and hopped on the bus to Yafo! There, the participants learned about the historic port city and were able to cool down with some tasty slushees and Golda ice cream. After this, we washed up and prepared for Shabbat. We had a moving service and a wonderful Shabbat dinner. Participants were eager to light candles and lead the blessings. After dinner, participants were given free time, which was spent exploring the kibbutz, seeing peacocks and cats, jamming out on the piano, playing cards, and, as always, connecting with their friends, both old and new. After free time, Bus 25 played a fun game of Imaginarium, in which they were able to get their creative juices flowing by drawing pictures, naming them, and then matching the name to the correct picture. The participants were then able to join in Israeli dancing. This was a particularly exciting activity! The participants, specifically from Habonim Dror, had waited for quite some time to do these dances, so it was thrilling when they were finally able to! It was fun to see the different dances from the different camps and in no time, everyone had learned a new dance from a camp other than the one that they had attended. After this absolutely wonderful day, the participants were justifiably exhausted and were eager to get to bed. We look forward to another incredible day tomorrow!
