MBI First Shabbat in Israel!

Hello!

The chanichimot of MBI (Machane Bonimot B’Israel) 2023 have hit the ground running.! After arriving from the airport after a long flight, we made our way to our first Hostel in Sde Boker in the Negev Desert in southern Israel. Our first morning, we went over guidelines for the program and learned about how to build a Kvutzah (group) on MBI. Of course it wouldn’t be Habonim Dror without a beautiful havdalah to close out Shabbat. It was so wonderful to spend our first Shabbat in Israel!

After a long day of peulot (educational activities) and tiyulim (nature walks/hikes) we prepared for Sunday morning, our first siyur (tour/experiential learning). Sunday morning, we made our way to learn about Tel Be’er Sheva (historic Be’er Sheva) and participate in an active archeological site. While we were digging up the ground, Chanichimot found ancient pottery, small animal bones, and preserved sea shells. This has been an awesome start to the journey that we have all embarked on.

Aleh Ve’Hagshem and thanks for reading!
