Jacobs in Israel – Bus 4
Exploring Jewish Life in Europe
After months of preparation, our chanichim, or participants, have arrived and the summer has finally begun! As NFTY in Israel staff members, we have spent weeks thinking about how meaningful this summer can be for participants as they explore the journey of the Jewish people in the place where it all started.
NFTY in Israel – L’Dor V’Dor Begins Their Journey
The teens arrived in Europe on Monday. Many of the participants are on a high as this is their first time in Europe. Tuesday, they were awed by the beautiful medieval architecture of the Prague Castle and the 12th century Charles Bridge decorated with historical statues. Prague was lively, picturesque and fun.
The First Day for Bus 7
The day started normally like any other day however, this day was no ordinary day. All staff were ready to meet the teens at the airport to start the summer. This would have to wait. “The teens are going to be getting to the airport at midnight” is what we were told. The day was spent making last minute adjustments as are common with any summer program experience.

The Jewish Teens That Could
This past Saturday, our tour group took a climb up Mt. Neshef (הר נשף) in the Negev. It was the afternoon, the hot sun beating down on us as if we were burgers on a flaming grill. We had had a long day; we started our morning with an early canyon hike with our Negev Tour-Guide and expert, Maor, followed by a beach and snorkeling getaway in the port town of Eilat.
Financial
Assistance
NFTY in Israel believes the opportunity to travel to Israel is one that cannot be missed. Many organizations support our mission of sending teens to Israel for a fun, educational and meaningful journey. To help offset the cost of a summer on NFTY in Israel, local communities, such as synagogues and federations, provide scholarship and financial aid to families.
