A Harlam Counselor on NFTY in Israel

A Harlam Counselor on NFTY in Israel

After growing up at Camp Harlam, I finally joined the staff in the summer of 2015. Unexperienced and unsure, I was met with one of my greatest challenges to date: a group of spirited, opinionated, intelligent, passionate thirteen-year-olds. Despite my best efforts, I was assigned two other groups of incredible tweens the following summer, but I made sure to maintain my connection to my first campers.

Reflections on Our New Israeli Peers – The Fun Has Just Begun

Reflections on Our New Israeli Peers – The Fun Has Just Begun

Over the course of these past three weeks, one of the biggest highlights has been getting to know fellow Jewish teens from around the United States. We’ve come together as one community and have been able to accomplish amazing things because of our shared Judaism.

Tikkun Olam

My Tikkun Olam experience started off with a two hour bus ride from the Nes Ammim hotel. This bus ride finally allowed me to really meet with some of the bus 4 kids, some of whom I had not been able to really get close with yet this trip.

The Freedom of NFTY in Israel

The Freedom of NFTY in Israel

Something I love about NFTY in Israel is the freedom. I’m able to experience the culture of Israel like I’m here on my own, yet still feel part of the family of my group. Two days ago we were in Jaffa, and were allowed to explore part of the city with our friends. We walked around, experiencing everything in the city.

Financial
Assistance

NFTY in Israel believes the opportunity to travel to Israel is one that cannot be missed. Many organizations support our mission of sending teens to Israel for a fun, educational and meaningful journey. To help offset the cost of a summer on NFTY in Israel, local communities, such as synagogues and federations, provide scholarship and financial aid to families.
