Teens Talk: Why You Should Join a Yallah! Israel Trip Next Year – Journey Europe Bus 2 Week 3

Hi! My name’s Talia and I’m a madricha on this Journey Europe trip. With only a few days left of this three-week experience, I went around to the campers and gathered 8 Reasons why they think YOU should come on a Yallah! Israel Trip:

Meet new people

“I came on this trip knowing I would meet new people, but I didn’t expect to make friends from all across the country and become close with all of them. This trip was an amazing opportunity for me to meet more Jewish teenagers that I would not have ever known I hadn’t come, but now I have made some of the closest friendships that I have ever had, and I am extremely grateful for the chance that I got to have known all of these new people.” – Olivia

Explore new sights

“When we were able to visit Auschwitz it was a very deep and meaningful connection to the Jewish community that has existed and will exist forever.” – Isaac

Explore Jewish history

“Exploring Jewish roots across Eastern Europe has been an eye opening experience that pushed me to better understand the strength of our story as Jews.” – Haiden

Connect with your spirituality

“I really felt like I was connecting to my Judaism whenever we all sang together. Not only was I able to connect with the Jewish spirituality and past, but also to all my peers on this trip with me” – Cameron

Feel connected with your ancestors

“I’ve never met another person with my last name, on this trip I have seen my last name countless times on memorials listing names of people who have died in the Holocaust. I now feel a great connection to my ancestors in a  way much stronger then I’ve felt before” – Dafna

Spend time with old friends

“I’ve gone to camp with these girls for eight years and it’s amazing experience to spend time with the same people in different places.” – Dani Spector

“It’s a great extension of camp and a way to see my camp friends.” Noah

Shabbat in Jewish Areas Abroad!

“With the help of the ukulele that Ezrah bought me, it was really special to lead services throughout the trip. The first week, we did a service in a park. It was a very meaningful that I was able to help bring people who didn’t know each other at all before hand into community. Seeing everyone in a circle in a space where passersby didn’t know what was going on created an even stronger bond because we understood what they didn’t.” – Eli

Connect with nature

“I loved the hike we did in the Czechia national park. That was the best hike I’ve ever been on in my life. Beautiful views, very worth the six miles. I also loved the rafting. It was amazing to have time to quietly enjoy the water and big trees around me.” – Athena

The impact of a Jewish trip abroad has only strengthened in a world dedicated to defining our own ethnic heritage and history for us. Yallah! Israel’s trips combine cultural pride, ancestral education, and good old-fashioned fun with other Jewish teens to strengthen the community for another generation to come.
