MBI: Our Last Shabbat

Shalom Families!

Today we begin our last Shabbat, and while we’re so joyful about the time we’ve spent together, we’re sad that it’s almost time to return our wonderful chanichimot to their homes.

This past week we spent with our Israeli friends from Misgav who joined the program for the week, and we enjoyed getting to know them as well as discuss together the big questions of the Jewish people: what should be its center? How should we shape the relationship between Israel and Jewish communities worldwide? What is a meaningful Jewish life no matter where we live? Another highlight for us was machaneh etgar, a one-night camping trip that involved an orienteering trip where chanichimot had to self-navigate trails. The hike demanded a lot of effort from each of the chanichimot, since they each had different jobs and realms of responsibility.

This Friday we’re bringing in the Shabbat with intentions of reflection as well as spending the remaining time that we have with feelings of gratitude and appreciation.

As we are every week, we’re so grateful that you’ve allowed us to spend this summer with your teens, and to be fully honest, we can’t believe the summer has already passed in a blink of an eye!

Shabbat Shalom,
Shula, Amir, Shahar, Ifat, Cameron, Hilla, Matan, Judah, Niv, and Charlotte
