Sci Tech in the Negev!

Shalom from beautiful Israel! So far we have been enjoying our stay in the Negev desert- the southern portion of Israel. Our first stop was in Sde Boker, where we visited Be’er Sheva, Yeruham, and Mitzpe Ramon. Some highlights include creating Moroccan art, visiting David and Paula BenGurion’s desert home, and the Mitzpe Ramon Visitor Center. At the Mitzpe Ramon Visitor Center we learned about Ilan Ramon, the first Israeli astronaut who died upon reentering the Earth’s atmosphere on the Columbia mission in 2003, along with the 6 other astronauts on board. We also saw a beautiful view of the desert from the visitor center.

Our second stop was in Eilat, a port city at the very southern tip of Israel. Some highlights from this stop were hiking the Red Canyon, snorkeling in the Red Sea, and participating in water sports such as kayaking, paddle boarding, and tubing. Our next stop is Jerusalem! Stay tuned for more pictures, videos, and blog posts!
