Week 1 in Israel!

By Talia Levin, Bus 5 Staff

It’s been only a week, but it feels like we’ve been adventuring together for years. Since arriving in Israel, we have all bonded over shawarma, long hikes, stargazing and floating in the Dead Sea. We started our adventure with a tour of Jerusalem which included water hikes, guided tours and tasting the food in the old city. All of our participants wrote down their aspirations and dreams and slipped them into the cracks of the Kotel after saying a prayer. For the past two days we have explored the desert together and slept under the stars. Bonfires full of songs, guitars and warm words have made all of the participants feel closer to one another. One of our biggest achievements so far was climbing Masada to watch the sunrise. We spent the morning learning about the rich history and strengthening our unity with the nation of Israel. We are all so excited to continue our travels as we head to Tel Aviv next to wander through the shuk and see the bustling city in a personal way.
