A Reflection Over the Last 4 Weeks

By Emmi Cox, NFTY in Israel Participant, Bus 2

As our last days of this trip come to an end, I have been able to reflect on how much this trip has given me. Obviously I’ve gained life long friends and unforgettable memories, but there’s much more than that. I have gained experience, love, comfort, and a new place to call home. Israel has given me the opportunity to try an immense amount of new things. I can now say that I have hiked through both the desert and the forest for 4 days, gone to the Dead Sea, tried authentic falafel, scaled mountains before sunrise and learned so much about where my ancestors came from and why I am here today. Without this trip and without all of the people I have become so close with over the last four weeks (including our staff), I know that I wouldn’t have and couldn’t have experienced so many wonderful and new things. So as we say goodbye, I would also like to add in a thank you, to everyone, everything and every place we traveled for making this the most unforgettable summer of my life.
